Prof. dr Goran Roglić, Full professor, HFBU

Full Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry, University of Belgrade – Faculty of Chemistry. Over 80 scientific papers have been published, accumulating more than 1,600 citations, along with several books and monographs. Participation is included in the implementation of Work Packages 1, 2, and 3 of the project UniCorn.

Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees were obtained at UBFC. A career has been built at the same faculty since 1990, progressing from a teaching assistant trainee to a full professor.

Scientific interests

Scientific interests are focused on medicinal and applied chemistry, particularly on the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of the biological activity of arylpiperazine ligands of dopamine and serotonin receptors. Research activities also include a wide range of work in environmental protection, especially the removal of pollutants from water and the degradation of organic contaminants through advanced oxidation processes such as the Fenton reaction, photocatalysis, ozonation or treatments involving hydrogen peroxide combined with UV radiation, as well as sonochemical approaches and the application of heterogeneous photocatalysts. Additional work is directed toward exploring possibilities for electrochemical degradation of organic pollutants, as well as qualitative and quantitative determination of environmentally relevant chemical compounds.

Engagement on projects

Participation has been achieved in numerous international and national projects. Peer-review activities have been carried out for several international journals in the relevant field. Throughout the career, supervision and involvement have been provided in the preparation of several dozen undergraduate theses, master’s theses, magister theses, and doctoral dissertations.
